64 Studio is an open source and freely distributed operating system derived from the popular Ubuntu distributions. It has been designed from the ground up to be used for creating digital content on 64-bit-capable computers. It is fully compatible with both Ubuntu and Debian GNU/Linux operating systems.
It’s distributed as 32-bit/64-bit installable-only CDs
The distro is available for download as two installable-only ISO images, one for the 32-bit (i386) architecture and another one for 64-bit hardware platforms. A Live CD edition of 64 Studio is available separately on Softoware. The installation starts automatically, runs in text mode
In order to install the operating system from one of the aforementioned ISO images, you must first write the one the corresponds to your computer’s hardware architecture onto a blank CD disc or a USB thumb drive of 1GB or higher capacity.Boot the CD media or USB stick from the BIOS of a PC and start the installation script, which will require you to choose the language used for the entire installation process (it will also be the default language for the final system), choose a country, territory or area, select a keyboard layout and timezone, partition the disk, set up users and passwords, as well as to select and install software.
After all software packages have been installed, you must also install the bootloader into the MBR (Master Boot Record) of the disk drive. Reboot the system to access the newly installed operating system.
