Most CSS frameworks work from the top down, loading lots of code for desktop devices, which gets trimmed down for small screen devices.
This method is considered a bad practice, especially if knowing that most of your traffic comes from mobile devices.
Sculpt does this the other way around, loading mobile styles first, and then, using CSS 3 media queries loads desktop styles, only if needed.
Using "progressive enhancement" to load CSS and HTML widgets is widely considered the best approach to CSS coding, and Sculpt follows this architectural pattern heartily.
Besides progressive enhancement and a mobile-first approach, Sculpt additionally includes some support and polyfills for older deprecated browsers, not considering a good idea to alienate users when there are support tools available.
The code is very well documented, clean, easy to read, and written to work on a versatile, responsive grid system.
Features:
- Grid system
- Default typography styles
- Various button sets
- Basic list styles
