Pure is more than a collection of CSS and JS modules for powering frontend interface components, it's a coding guideline as well.

Pure not only provides a set of ready-made components and widgets, but also shows developers how to organize and code their interfaces.

The framework can be used to quickly deploy UI components for current apps without spending time dabbling around in HTML, CSS and browser quirks.

At its base Pure is very versatile, adapting to any project requirement, being ideal for medium to large websites, mainly due to its efficient code reuse techniques.

Features:

  • Responsive layout
  • Non-responsive layout available as well
  • Easy to style
  • Skin builder
  • Integrated with Normalize.css
  • Cross-browser tested
  • Lightweight file size
  • Online documentation
  • Included components:
  • Grid system
  • Menus
  • Form layouts
  • Buttons
  • Table styles
  • Basic typography

What is new in this release:

  • New Pure menus.

What is new in version 0.5.0:

  • Added the .pure-img class name for make images scale with the viewport in fluid layouts.
  • Switched cell padding in Tables from px to em units, and also increased the amount of padding to padding: 0.5em 1em.

What is new in version 0.4.2:

  • Added main to Pure's bower.json file to allow easier integration with build processes and tooling.
  • Removed some of the font-size declarations in Forms to allow the defaults to apply and make it easier for developers to customize.

What is new in version 0.4.1:

  • Can now add a hidden attribute to your element to hide it.
  • Buttons now have visually uniform default padding on all four sides, so they look a little nicer.
  • <input> buttons now have the same height as non-input buttons.
  • <textareas> within .pure-form-aligned look better, thanks to a vertical alignment fix.

What is new in version 0.3.0:

  • Pure now requires the Base module (which is Normalize.css) to be on the page. Pure has essentially always required the styles provided by Normalize.css via the Base module, and this now makes it a firm requirement. The pure-min.css and pure-nr-min.css rollup files already include the Base module.
  • Removed forms-core.css. This was a copy of Normalize.css' form related styles. Now that Pure requires the Base module (which is Normalize.css) to be on the page, the Forms Core submodule is no longer needed.
  • Added back :focus styles to [readonly] input elements.
  • Added a height: auto rule to images within a .pure-g-r so that their aspect ratios are maintained when the page is resized.

What is new in version 0.2.1:

  • Updating pure-u-1 to be display: inline-block, instead of display: block.
  • Fixed the pure-input-rounded class so that it actually rounds input elements.
  • Fixing an issue in grids that caused elements to overlap.

What is new in version 0.2.0:

  • Added basic Tests using CSSLint via grunt test.
  • Integrated Travis CI which runs grunt test on pushes to master and for pull requests.
  • Added grunt watch task which runs tests and build.
  • Added support to pure-site for serving pure locally during development.

What is new in version 0.1.0:

  • Upgraded Normalize.css to 1.1.2.
  • Integrated Bower into grunt import process.
  • Cleaned up manual test files, removing unnecessary CSS files and cruft.
