UbSecLive is an open source and freely distributed operating system based on the world’s most popular distribution of Linux, Ubuntu, and designed from the ground up to be very secure, protecting users from external threats and attacks. It is built with the well known Remastersys tool and uses the Unity graphical interface.
Downloadable as a dual-arch Live DVD
The system can be downloaded through Softoware or from its official homepage (see link above) as a dual-arch Live DVD ISO image that will support both 32-bit (i386) and 64-bit (x86_64) hardware platforms.
Boot options
Being based on Ubuntu, the distribution features a standard boot menu that will allow the user to start the live environment with default boot options and drivers or in safe graphics mode, start the graphical installer directly, run a system memory diagnostic test, as well as to boot an existing operating system from the first disk.
Standard Unity desktop environment for modern users
The distribution keeps users secure in style, as the developer decided to stick with the gorgeous, modern and productive Unity desktop environment for his open source operating system. Nothing has been modified to the Unity interface, which comes with built-in support for the Spanish and English languages.
Adds an extra layer of open source applications
Besides the standard set of apps and utilities that are included by default in an Ubuntu distribution, this remix adds an extra layer of open source applications, among which we can mention VLC Music Player, Xnoise, GIMP, PCManFM, Linphone, Flush, QpdfView, Gufw and p7zip.
Bottom line
Summing up, UbSecLive is a great, stable and reliable operating system where the main emphasis is on keeping you safe and secure at all times while you are connected to the Internet. This can only be achieved with a powerful and flexible Linux-based OS, such as Ubuntu.
