TurnKey LXC Live CD is an open source distribution of Linux that provides users with a special software appliance for deploying dedicated server systems with LXC. It is uses the latest technologies and packages from the award winning Debian GNU/Linux operating system.

LXC, also known as Linux Containers, is an open source userspace interface to the authoritative features of the Linux kernel. The appliance comes with a TurnKey LXC template, which allows users to create and download the container of other TurnKey editions, supports APT proxy and network link configurations, and can be used on many LXC distributions.

In addition, it features nginx-proxy for exposing the web services of a container to the network, as well as iptables-nat, which can be used to expose non-web services of containers non-web, such as SSH.

The appliance has been configured to support network bridge interfaces, network NAT bridge interfaces, DNS and DHCP services, apt-cacher-ng, TurnKey Web Control panel, example inithooks configuration for preseeding, control groups, and IP forwarding.

This special TurnKey edition is distributed as Live CD ISO images, offering support for both 32-bit and 64-bit architectures. In addition to the Live CDs, users can grab virtual machine images from the project's homepage, supporting the Xen, OpenStack, OVF, OpenVZ and OpenNode virtualization technologies.

When installing this operating system, users need to keep in mind that the default username for the Webmin and SSH components is root. The password for the root account can be set up during the first boot configuration process.

The entire installation process is painless, requiring users to only select a disk partitioning method and choose where to install the boot loader. At the end of the installation, you can access the TurnKey Linux Configuration Console and view the IP addresses and ports of the appliance's active services.
