As its name suggests, Pisi Linux Minimal is a special edition of the Pisi Linux distribution that contains a minimal computing environment with command-line applications. Pisi Linux is a Linux kernel-based operating system derived from Pardus Linux and using the advanced PiSi package management system.
It is distributed as a 64-bit installable-only ISO image
The Minimal edition of Pisi Linux is distributed as an installable-only ISO image that’s usable only on computers supporting the 64-bit (x86_64) instruction set architectures. You must write the ISO image on a CD disc or a USB thumb drive of 1GB or higher capacity in order to boot it from the BIOS of a PC.
Supports many languages and includes standard boot options
The distribution supports many languages, including English US, Spanish, Catalan, German, French, Hungarian, Polish, Dutch, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Czech, Swedish, Croatian and Italian. It includes standard boot options, such as the ability to start the installer, rescue a broken OS, boot from the local drive, run a memory test or view detailed hardware information.
There’s no live mode, it can only be installed
While the distro will boot very fast, it feature no live mode and it will prompt users with the installation script where they must accept the default software license, verify the integrity of the packages (optional), choose a keyboard language, set the timezone, set up users and passwords, as well as to choose a partitioning type and configure advanced options.
It features a command-line computing environment
Being designed as a minimal version of the Pisi Linux operating system, the Minimal edition features a command-line computing environment where users must login with the username/password combination created during the installation process and then install a graphical desktop environment, as well as any application that is available on the default software repositories.
