TurnKey Mambo Live CD is an open source software appliance that provides users with a unique solution for deploying dedicated Mambo servers with minimum effort and without paying for expensive products or spend a large amount of time searching the Web for tutorials on how to install Mambo on a Linux server.
Mambo is an open source, award-winning, web-based and full-featured CMS (Content Management System) software that can be used to build simple of complex websites. The appliance is based on the award winning Debian GNU/Linux operating system and comes with all of the upstream Mambo configurations, which have been installed by default in /var/www/mambo
Key features include a Postfix MTA (Mail Transfer Agent) that is bound to localhost and designed to send automatic email messages to users, such as password recovery, the phpMyAdmin software that listens on port 12322, uses SSL, and lets users to easily manage MySQL databases, as well as several Webmin modules for configuring PHP, Apache, Postfix and MySQL.
This TurnKey appliance is distributed as Live CD ISO images, which can be written to USB thumb drives or CD discs and are compatible with the 64-bit (amd64) and 32-bit (i386) instruction set architectures. In addition to the Live CDs, TurnKey offers several virtual machine images for the OpenStack, OpenNode, OpenVZ, Xen and OVF virtualization technologies.
While the default username for the MySQL, SSH, phpMyAdmin and Webmin components is root, the default Mambo username is admin. During the first boot configuration process, users will be able to enter new passwords for the aforementioned accounts, as well as to set up a valid email address for the Mambo 'admin' account.
The appliance can be managed directly from the TurnKey Linux Configuration Console, or remotely, using the built-in SSH, SFTP or Web Shell services. Don't forget to write down the IP addresses and ports of these services!
