Bluewhite64 Linux miniLive is an open source and freely distributed operating system derived from the highly acclaimed Slackware Linux distribution and designed from the ground up to offer a glimpse of what the Bluewhite64 Linux distro can do.

It’s distributed as a minimal 64-bit Live CD

As its name suggests, the miniLive edition of Bluewhite64 Linux is distributed to users as a minimal Live CD ISO image that contains software packages optimized only for the 64-bit (x86_64) instruction set architecture.

Run Bluewhite64 Linux in live mode

The Live CD boot menu includes only two options, the ability to start the live system and use the distribution without installing anything on your computer, as well as to perform a system memory (RAM) diagnostic test.

It’s modular

Bluewhite64 Linux is a modular operating system. This edition features a live graphical session based on the KDE desktop environment, but with fewer applications. As mentioned, it was created with a single purpose in mind, to allow you to get a glimpse of what Bluewhite64 Linux brings to the table.

Oriented towards desktop and server use

This Slackware derivative is oriented towards desktop and server use. It features the KDE desktop environment and it’s distributed in multiple editions, with KDE 3.5, KDE4, as installable-only CD/DVDs, as well as a Live DVD.

Provides users with top-notch applications

Besides KDE-specific apps, the Bluewhite64 Linux operating system provides users with top-notch applications, among which we can mention the Mozilla Firefox web browser, Mozilla Thunderbird email and news client, XChat IRC client, GIMP image editor and SeaMonkey all-in-one Internet suite.

It is no longer under active development

The miniLive edition of Bluewhite64 Linux is no longer under active development. It won’t receive any software updates, bug fixes or security patches, and has been archived for historical references purposes only.
