Tango Studio

Tango Studio is an open source distribution of Linux that offers a suite of some of the best open source applications that are pre-configured and optimized for audio creation tasks. It is based on Debian GNU/Linux and includes a real-time PAE kernel, the MATE desktop environment, ALSA, JACK2, and multiarch support.

Distributed as 32-bit and 64-bit Live DVDs

This Debian-based operating system for audio production can be downloaded as Live DVD ISO images of approximately 2GB in size, which have been engineered to support the 64-bit (amd64) and 32-bit (i386) instruction set architectures. Keep in mind that you must deploy these ISO images to DVD discs or USB sticks in order to boot them from the BIOS of the PC.

Boot options

The boot menu of the Live DVDs is quite simple and minimal, allowing the user to start the live environment with a realtime kernel, directly start the text-mode or graphical installers, start the live session in failsafe mode, as well as to view detailed information about you computer’s hardware components.

The distribution’s default and only desktop environment is MATE, which offers a traditional, fast and beautified graphical session with a dark grey theme and a two-panel layout.
