ALT Linux Nexus 7

ALT Linux Nexus 7 is an open source and totally free Linux kernel-based operating system specifically designed to be used on the well-known Nexus 7 tablet created by ASUS for Google. It is the first ARM edition of the ALT Linux distribution.

Distributed in two editions, with KDE and Enlightenment desktop environments

ALT Linux Nexus 7 is distributed two different, archived IMG files with the KDE and Enlightenment (E17) desktop environments. It supports only the ARM architecture and can be deployed on a USB flash drive or directly to your Nexus 7 device.

Both the KDE and Enlightenment graphical interfaces have been modified to fit on the small screen of the Nexus 7 tablet device, providing users with an easy-to-use, modern and attractive interface for their Nexus tablets.

What is ALT Linux?

ALT Linux is an open source computer operating system based on the Linux kernel and forked from the Mandrake Linux distribution. It is distributed in multiple editions, such as ALT Linux School (Master, Teacher, Junior and Server), ALT Linux KDesktop, ALT Linux Rescue and ALT Linux Server.

In addition, the project also offers several special editions under the name of ALT Linux Starterkits, which come with various desktop environments, including MATE, Cinnamon, GNOME, WindowMaker, Xfce, KDE, Razor-qt, IceWM, LXDE, Enlightenment, GNUstep and LXQt.

It is no longer under active development

Do to lack of interest, please keep in mind that the Nexus 7 edition of ALT Linux is no longer under active development and the version distributed here on Softoware is quite old, which may include bugs and outdated software packages. It has been archived for historical references purposes only.
