FilteringHighlight is ideal for a client-side search engine, working totally inside your browser.
The plugin basically searches the DOM for the user's inputted text and adds a special background to all the matched terms, may them be full words or just a fragment.
The yellow color is customizable and the plugin can be used regardless of the site's server-side technology, may it be PHP, Java, Ruby, and so on.
A sample page is included with the FilteringHighlight download package, perfect for helping developers get started on their own implementations.
