TurnKey DokuWiki Live CD is an open source distribution of Linux that allows users to deploy dedicated DokuWiki servers in no time and with minimum effort. It's based on the highly acclaimed and award winning Debian GNU/Linux operating system.
DokuWiki is an open source Wiki software targeted at small companies that need to maintain documentation for their projects. The appliance includes all of the upstream DokuWiki configurations, with admin group and user, upload privileges for authenticated users, clean URLs, and working Configuration Manager plugin.
Key features include a Postfix MTA (Mail Transfer Agent) for sending emails to users, out-of-the-box support for secure connections using the latest SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) implementation, as well as Webmin modules for configuring PHP, Postfix and Apache.
The appliance is distributed as Live CD ISO images, which means that users can just try it without installing anything on their computers. Two ISO images are available for download, one for each of the supported hardware platforms (32-bit and 64-bit).
In addition to the Live CDs, the TurnKey DokuWiki appliance is also available for download as virtual machine images from the project's website, supporting the OpenStack, Xen, OVF, OpenVZ and OpenNode virtualization technologies and running on 64-bit (amd64) architectures.
When using this appliance to deploy dedicated DokuWiki servers, users should keep in mind that the default username for the Webmin, SSH, MySQL and Web Shell components is root, and the default DokuWiki username is admin.
The Live CDs can be used to install the operating system on any computer, a process that will take no more than five minutes, during which users will need to choose a partitioning method and where to install the boot loader.
At the end of the installation process, you can enter a new password for the root (system administrator) account, as well as a new password and valid email address for the DokuWiki 'admin' account. Don't forget to write down the IP addresses and ports of the active services (SSH, SFTP, Web Shell and Webmin).
