TAS OS is an open-source distribution of Linux derived from the world’s most popular operating system, Ubuntu, and designed from the ground up to be as simple, secure, reliable and easy-to-use as possible.
It supports only 32-bit applications
The operating system can be downloaded as a single Live DVD ISO image of approximately 1GB in size, deployable on either 32-bit (i386) or 64-bit (x86_64) computer platforms. The user must burn the ISO image onto a DVD disc using any CD/DVD burning software or write it on a USB thumb drive of 1GB or higher capacity in order to boot it from the BIOS of a computer.
The distro can be installed or used as-is from the bootable medium
From the boot menu, the user can try the operating system without installing it, start the installer directly, check the disk for defects, perform a system memory diagnostic test, as well as to boot an existing OS that is currently installed on the local drive.Uses an old-school graphical desktop environment powered by GNOME Classic
The distro uses an old-school graphical desktop environment that is powered by the GNOME Classic interface. It uses a two-panel layout and the Adwaita theme. The panels are black.Includes a standard set of open-source applications
