Rainlendar Pro is a commercial, highly-customizable, lightweight and feature rich desktop widget designed from the ground up to act as a standalone calendar that is easy-to-use and doesn't take much space on your open-source desktop environment. The Pro edition of Rainlendar includes all the missing features from the Lite edition, but it is not free.

Features at a glance

Key features include support for different events types with different appearances, transparency, built-in todo-list, the ability to synchronize events between several clients, as well as to display the current date in the tray icon, Outlook's appointments and an alarm when an event is due.

It is also possible to use Rainlendar with other calendar applications, as it’s an Unicode application and supports localizations. In addition to events, the application also supports tasks, which are kept in separate lists. It is standards-compliant calendar app that stores its data in the iCalendar format, according to RFC-2445.

Rainlendar Lite and Rainlendar Pro

For users’ convenience, Rainlendar is distributed in two editions, a Lite version that includes a decent amount of features useful for any normal Linux user, and a Pro edition that adds advanced features, such as support for network shared calendars, support for Google Calendar and Google Tasks, support for Remember the Milk, Toodledo support, the ability to export calendars to the CSV format, as well as to import them from CSV files, CalDAV and iCal support.

Supported operating systems and hardware platforms

Rainlendar is a cross-platform application that is officially supported on any GNU/Linux distribution, especially Ubuntu and its derivatives, for which pre-built DEB packages are available for download on the project’s website.

Additionally, the Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating systems are also officially supported by Rainlendar, which has been successfully tested on both 32-bit and 64-bit hardware platforms.
