OSLtriX is an open source, eye-candy, stable, portable, easy to use and reliable distribution of Linux derived from the world’s most popular free operating system, Ubuntu. It is built around the lightweight, productive and elegant Xfce graphical desktop environment and derived from Xubuntu. It is distributed in two flavors, Main and Lite.
Supports 32-bit and 64-bit hardware platforms
This is the Main edition of OSLtriX, distributed as a dual-arch Live DVD ISO image that supports 32-bit and 64-bit hardware platforms. The ISO image has approximately 2 GB in size and can be burned onto a DVD disc or written on a USB flash drive of 2GB or higher capacity.
Boot menu à la Xubuntu Linux
Being based on Xubuntu, the distribution comes with a Live DVD boot menu that is identical in look and functionality with the one of the upstream operating system. From here, the user can just start the live system with normal configuration, or perform a system memory diagnostic test, boot from the local drive, start the installer directly, as well as to check the bootable medium for defects.
Attractive desktop environment built around Xfce
The Xfce desktop environment has been highly customized and includes a beautiful main menu applet, a two-panel layout and a system monitoring widget on the desktop. It is quite fast, responsive and productive.
Contains a vast amount of open-source applications
The best feature of the OSLtriX Linux distribution is by far the software collection. It contains a vast amount of open-source applications, among which we can mention the GIMP image editor, LibreOffice office suite, Terminator advanced terminal emulator, Audacious audio player, Mozilla Thudnerbird email and news client, XMBC Media Center and Synaptic Package Manager.
Try the OSLtriX Lite edition
We also recommend you to try the Lite edition of the OSLtriX operating system. It is still derived from Xubuntu Linux, uses the same eye-candy and attractive Xfce desktop environment, but contains fewer apps.
