LinuxBBQ Count

LinuxBBQ Count is an open source distribution of Linux designed for small and medium sized businesses where the need for very fast and free computer operating systems is a priority. It features the lightweight Xfce desktop environment and it’s based on the Debian GNU/Linux OS.

Distributed as a 32-bit Live CD

This special edition of LinuxBBQ can be downloaded via Softoware or directly from its official webpage (see link above) as a single ISO image tagged with the 32-bit architecture, which means that is supports only 32-bit applications. However, you can also use it on a 64-bit computer.

Boot options

From the boot loader of the Live CD, the user can start the live environment with default boot options, with support for Intel graphics cards, with the VGA or nomode options, by copying the contents of the ISO image to RAM, in failsafe mode or with the SysV runlevel system. In addition, they can perform a memory test or boot from the local drive.

Office-oriented desktop environment powered by Xfce

Like many other LinuxBBQ editions, this one uses Xfce as its default and only desktop environment, which comprises of a single panel located on the upper part of the screen, from where the user can launch applications or interact with running programs. Keep in mind though, that the username/password combination used is bbq/bbq.

Includes a handful of open source office-oriented apps

The LinuxBBQ Count edition includes a handful of open source office-oriented applications, among which we can mention Fakturama invoicing software, HomeBank accounting software, LibreOffice office suite (includes Writer and Spreadsheet components), as well as Orage Calendar.
