Fedora Plasma Next Live CD is an open source and freely distributed respin of the well known Fedora Linux operating system, built around the Plasma Next desktop environment, which was previously known as KDE Plasma Workspaces and Applications, KDE Software Compilation and K Desktop Environment.
Distributed as a dual-arch Live CD image
This special Fedora edition is quite similar in functionality with all other Fedora Spins, except for the fact that it is distributed as a dual-arch Live CD ISO image that must be burned onto a CD disc or written on a USB flash drive of 1GB or higher capacity in order to boot it from the BIOS of a PC.The minimal boot menu will allow the user to start the live environment, as well as to access various other functions, such as the ability to boot an existing operating system from the local drive or start the live session in safe graphics mode, in case your graphics card is not recognized by the main boot option.
The evolutionary KDE desktop is here
KDE has rejuvenated the notion of evolutionary design with its brand-new Plasma Next desktop environment, which powers this Fedora Spin and provides users with a very modern and productive graphical environment comprised of a single taskbar located on the bottom edge of the screen. The main menu has been redesigned in Plasma Next and will allow the user to quickly access the preinstalled apps, among which we can mention Dolphin file manager, Kate and KWrite text editors, Klipper clipboard tool, Konsole terminal emulator, KSysGuard system monitor, KWalletManager password manager, as well as the Rekonq web browser.
