Dlive Airo

Dlive Airo is an open source distribution of Linux based on Debian GNU/Linux and built around the lightweight and traditional Xfce desktop environment. It includes a wide range of open source tools tailored for security professional who want a minimal and very fast penetration testing OS.

Distributed as a dual-arch Live CD

The distribution is available for download as a single, dual-arch Live CD ISO image that will run well on both 32-bit and 64-bit hardware platforms. Please note that you must write the ISO image to a blank CD disc or a USB flash drive in order to boot it from the BIOS of a PC.

Boot options

The GRUB powered boot menu will allow you to start the live environment with default options or in safe graphics mode (fail-safe mode), as well as with a Linux kernel from the 3.5 branch for 32-bit (i486) platforms.

Being designed to be a fast and lightweight operating system for security professionals, Dlive Airo comes with the traditional and easy-to-use Xfce desktop environment, which comprises of a single taskbar located on the bottom edge of the screen, from where the user can quickly launch applications or interact with running programs.

Includes top-notch penetration testing utilities

The system comes pre-installed with the powerful aircrack-ng suite, including all of its plugins and dependencies. Among other penetration testing utilities, we can mention Wireshark, Zenmap, John The Ripper, Macchanger, SSLstrip, dSniff, Pyrit and Hydra.

Default applications

Beside the Xfce-specific utilities, default applications include the Midori web browser, Audacious audio player, XTerm and UXTerm terminal emulators, X File Explorer, and ImageMagick image converter.
