dl Download Ticket Service

dl is a download ticket service, an open source, platform-independent and completely free web-based application written in the PHP server-side programming language, using CSS and various database engines to store its information.

Automatically generates unique tickets for downloads

The software is designed from the offset to act as a file exchange service, which allows users to upload files to a web server, and the system will automatically generate a unique ticket for others to download.

Integrates with Mozilla Thunderbird

The project features automatic expiration of generated tickets (according to the specified rules), so you won't have to cleanup after it. It also supports anonymous, one-time uploads, and integrates with the Mozilla Thunderbird email and news client.

Runtime dependencies

Among the runtime dependencies of dl, we can mention PHP 5.3 or higher, the SQLite PHP module or any other PDO database module for PHP, mbstring PHP module, as well as the OpenSSL PHP module.

Getting started with dl

Before attempting to install dl on your web server (see the project’s official website for supported web servers), please read the above section for runtime dependencies. It’s independent of an operating system

Being a web-based application, dl (Download Ticket Service) is independent of an operating system. It can be used from any computer operating system (GNU/Linux, BSD, Solaris, Mac OS X or Microsoft Windows) or from a mobile operating system (Android, iOS, Windows Phone, BlackBerry).

It is also independent hardware platform, which means that it doesn’t matter if you have an old 32-bit computer or a modern 64-bit machine. All you need to use dl is a supported web browser software, such as Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Chromium, Opera, Safari or Internet Explorer.
