Bitnami Horde Module is a multiplatform and free software project, a module for Bitnami’s LAMP, WAMP and MAMP stacks, specially designed simplifying the deployment of the Horde Groupware Webmail on personal computers, without having to deal with its runtime dependencies.
What is Horde?
Horde Groupware Webmail Edition is an open source, web-based and enterprise ready communication suite. With it, users will be able to read, send and organize email messages, as well as to manage and share contacts, calendars, notes and tasks.
Installing Bitnami Horde Module
The Bitnami Horde Module product reviewed here is distributed as native installers, supporting all GNU/Linux distributions, as well as the Mac OS X operating system. Both 64-bit (recommended) and 32-bit computers are supported at this time.
To install Horde on top of your existing BitNami LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP) Stack, Bitnami WAMP (Windows, Apache, MySQL and PHP) Stack or Bitnami MAMP (Mac, Apache, MySQL and PHP) Stack, download the package that corresponds to your computer’s hardware architecture, run it and follow the on-screen instructions.
Run Horde in the cloud on virtualize it
Thanks to Bitnami, users are now able to run Horde in the cloud with their hosting platform or by using a pre-built cloud image that’s compatible with the Amazon EC2 and Windows Azure cloud hosting providers. In addition, it is possible to virtualize Horde by using Bitnami’s virtual appliance for Oracle VirtualBox and VMware ESX/ESXi virtualization software, based on the latest stable release of Ubuntu Linux.

Besides Bitnami Horde Module, Bitnami also offers an all-in-one, free and cross-platform solution that greatly simplifies the installation and hosting of the Horde application and its runtime dependencies on personal computers.
