To work properly, countUp.js needs a value to count up to, the number of decimals values and the duration of the count-up animation.
Once everything configured it will slowly (or speedily) animate a number using a counter-like motion to the desired value.
The script does not work with values in real-time, but can be used instead on page loads as a more glamorous way of showing numbers or statistics.
An example is included with the countUp.js package.
