The colpick Color Picker is a UI component that works by detecting the user's color selection (via the aforementioned spectrum) and converting it to a color code.
Hex color codes, RGB, and HSB values are supported out of the box, values which are then attached to a form input field and sent to the server when the form is submitted.
The color picker itself includes a light and dark skin, and can work either embedded inline with the page, or via a popup window.
The colpick interface is drawn using CSS only, no images being used, and resembles the color picker used by the Adobe Photoshop image editing software.
For the functionality it provides, the component is pretty easy to deploy, is relatively small in file size, and works with all major browser.
What is new in this release:
- Added gradient prefixes for old browsers.
- Prefixes were added for the hue bar and color selection gradients: -ms, -webkit, -moz, -o.
