The "messages" jQuery plugin is not a form validation plugin as you might be fooled from the demo (also included with the download package).
It is merely a simplistic system for showing a generic message next to an element already displayed on the page.
The generic message can be of various types, like: warning, notification, info, or success.
The element next to which is shown can be more than a form field, like: a table, a header title, an image, another widget, etc..
Basically you can use the "messages" plugin to simply append text-based messages to another page element whenever the user does or interacts with something (like a button or controller).
The plugin can append multiple messages to the same element, the same message to multiple elements, one message per element, or multiple messages to multiple elements at the same time.
