TurnKey TKLDev Live CD is an open source and freely distributed Linux operating system based on the Debian GNU/Linux distribution and designed from the ground up to be used as an appliance for effortlesly deploying a dedicated TurnKey development toolchain and build system on a server machine.

Key features includes the TurnKey build and development toolchain, such as fab, deck and friends, Turnkey development directory structure with preconfigured CDPATH, integrated caching proxy for iterative and fast development, as well as comprehensive development and usage documentation.

This is a special TurnKey edition that can be used to create other TurnKey appliances. It is also known as the mother of all TurnKey appliances and it's main goal is to be used by appliance hackers to generate TurnKey Linux appliances from source.

It comes with a SSH (Secure Shell) server, which uses the root username. A new password for this system administrator account can be set during the first boot configuration process, from where users can also initialize the TurnKey hub services, such as Domain Management, Backup, Migration and Dynamic DNS.

The project is distributed as Live CD ISO images, one for each of the supported hardware platforms (64-bit/amd64 and 32-bit/i386), as well as ready-to-use virtual machines in the Xen, OpenNode, OVF, OpenVZ and OpenStack formats.

From the TurnKey Linux Configuration Console you can reboot or shutdown the server, as well as to configure the network interfaces and view the active services, such as the web shell, the Webmin administration front-end, and the SSH/SFTP accounts (including their IP addresses and ports).

All the existing TurnKey appliances listed on the Softoware website have been generated with the TKLDev flavor and there are based on the stable, reliable and highly acclaimed Debian GNU/Linux operating system. You can search and download them via our dedicated Linux section!
