TurnKey SimpleInvoices Live CD is an open source and freely distributed operating system that provides users with a Debian-based appliance, which includes all the necessary components for deploying dedicated servers with the SimpleInvoices software.
SimpleInvoices is an open source and web-based invoicing system. Key features of this appliance include upstream SimpleInvoices configurations installed by default in /var/www/simpleinvoices, a mail server, a database server, and administration front-ends.
It comes with the phpMyAdmin software for administering the MySQL database server, a Postfix MTA (Mail Transfer Agent) server for sending emails to users, such as password recovery, as well as several Webmin modules for configuring MySQL, Postfix, PHP and Apache.
While the default username for the SSH, phpMyAdmin, Webmin and MySQL components is root, the default SimpleInvoices username is admin@example.com. It is a must to add passwords for the root (system administrator) account, the MySQL 'root' account, and the SimpleInvoices 'admin' account.
In addition, you must enter a valid email address for the 'admin' account of the SimpleInvoices software. Optionally, it is possible to initialize two hub services offered by TurnKey, Domain Managenent and Dynamic DNS, as well as Backup and Migration for your databases and files.
From the TurnKey Linux Configuration Console, users can view the IP addresses and ports of the active services for this appliance, as well as to access the advanced menu, from where they can configure the network interfaces, and reboot or shutdown the server.
The TurnKey SimpleInvoices appliance is distributed as Live CD ISO images, which can be used to install the operating system on a local disk drive or just try it using the demo mode. They can be burned to CD discs using a CD/DVD burning software, or written to USB sticks using Disks (GNOME) or UNetbootin apps.
It is supported on both 64-bit and 32-bit hardware platforms. Additionally, virtual images are available from the project's website for the OpenVZ, Xen, OpenStack, OpenNode and OVF virtualization technologies.
