There are three different editions of this this operating system. This is the most basic one, called Core. It is available for download as minimal Live CD ISO images of approximately 200MB in size each, supporting both 32-bit (i386) and 64-bit (x86_64) instruction set architectures. In order to use it, you must first burn the ISO image appropriate to your target machine onto a blank CD disc using any CD/DVD burning software or write it to a USB thumb drive of 512MB or higher capacity using either of the UNetbootin or GNOME Disk Utility (Disks) applications.
It features a very minimal boot prompt
Being designed as a bare-bone operating system, the Core edition of noop linux comes with a minimal boot prompt that has been designed from the ground up to automatically start the live system in 5 seconds from the moment the user boots the ISO image from the BIOS of a PC.If you’re in a hurry, you can immediately press the Enter key on your keyboard when you see the boot prompt, as there’s only one options available, Live. Advanced users should know that the boot options is editable and supports additional kernel parameters.
A bare-bone system with no graphical environment
There’s no graphical desktop environment on this bare-bone operating system, which means that you will be dropped to a shell prompt where you can only use command-line applications. The main purpose of the noop linux Core edition is to offer a very basic system to experienced Linux users who want to build their own distribution.
