noop linux KDE is the third in a series of Linux kernel-based distributions that are not based on any existing operating system. This special edition of noop linux is built around the modern and productive KDE Plasma graphical desktop environment.

The distribution is downloadable as Live DVDs for mainstream architectures

The KDE edition of noop linux is available for download as Live DVD ISO images of approximately 2GB in size each. They are bootable ISOs that must be burned onto DVD discs or written to USB thumb drives of 2GB for the 32-bit edition and 4GB or higher capacity for the 64-bit flavor.

It boots automatically into the live system

When booting from the BIOS of a PC using either a DVD disc or a USB thumb drive, you will encounter a minimal bootloader powered by GRUB, which will automatically start the live system in 5 seconds.

Pressing the E key on your keyboard will allow you to edit the boot option and add extra kernel parameters, in case you have some special hardware components on your computer that are not recognized by default.

The KDE desktop environment is pretty standard and very familiar

As mentioned, KDE Software Compilation is the default and only desktop environment of noop linux KDE. It provides users with a traditional and familiar graphical session that uses a single panel on the bottom edge of the screen, allowing users to easily launch applications and interact with running programs.

Includes a vast selection of open source applications

Default applications include the Mozilla Thunderbird email and news client, Chromium web browser, FileZilla FTP client, KTorrent BitTorrent client, Kopete IM client, Dragon Player video player, VLC Media Player, as well as many other KDE-specific applications.

A modern distribution of Linux with a familiar look and feel

All in all, noop linux KDE can be easily declared as a modern distribution of Linux with a familiar look and feel. While it supports both old and modern PCs, we strongly recommend to use it only on modern, 64-bit computers, and download the noon linux MATE edition for low-end machines.
