Linux Educational is an open source and freely distributed Linux operating system of the Federal Government in Brazil, designed from the ground up to offer the best computing environment in schools and similar educational institutions. It is based on the Ubuntu Linux distribution and uses the GNOME desktop environment.
Distributed as dual-language Live DVDs
The operating system is available for download from Softoware as Live DVD ISO images that support the Brazilian Portuguese and English languages, as well as the 64-bit (x86_64) and 32-bit (i386) instruction set architectures.Boot options
A custom boot prompt is provided on the Live DVDs, allowing the user to try the operating system without installing anything, permanently install the distribution, run a system memory diagnostic test, boot an existing OS from the first disk, as well as to check the integrity of the disc (only if booting from a DVD media).Powerful GNOME desktop environment suitable for educational institutions
