Not Tetris

Not Tetris is an open source, freely downloadable and multiplatform graphical puzzle game written in the LOVE 2D game engine and designed as the spiritual successor of the old-school Tetris game, but mixed with physics.

Not your regular Tetris game

This is not your regular Tetris game, it is a fun spin-off where the player can rotate the falling blocks and place them at any angle, which can result in a total mess if you are not paying attention at the gameplay at all times.

Not Tetris features a highly customizable clean look, nostalgic music from the classic Tetris game, and support for up to two simultaneous (head-to-head multiplayer) players. Take a look at the multiplayer menu for 2-player instructions.

Based on the LOVE 2D game engine

The game is based on the beautiful and powerful LOVE 2D game engine, which lets developers to effortlessly create entertaining games that work on all mainstream operating systems. Of course, this means that you will have to install LOVE on your computer in order to run the Not Tetris game.

Getting started with Not Tetris 2

After installing the LOVE 2D game engine, download the binary package of the Not Tetris game, save the archive somewhere on your computer and extract it using your favorite archive manager utility. Open the extracted directory and double click the Not Tetris 2.love file to play the game.

You will be able to choose between normal and stack game type, choose between a-type, b-type or c-type music type, turn the music off, or view the top three score in the game’s preferences screen.

Game controls

To navigate the menu, use the arrows and Enter keys. While with the left and right arrows you can move blocks, the Z and X keys are used to rotate blocks. The down arrow can be used to make the block fall faster, use the Esc key to return to the menu, press Enter to pause the game, and use Backspace to reset highscore in the music menu.
