Combokeys is a continuation of the Mousetrap library, letting developers create custom actions that can be triggered by the press of one or more keys inside their applications.
The best feature in the entire library? Probably the ability to setup keyboard shortcuts using a simple syntax like "shift+i+5" instead of working with complex key numeric codes like "16+105+53".
Currently the library supports the classic keypress, keydown, and keyup events.
These events can be used to execute custom pieces of code for both key combos (multiple keys pressed at once) or key sequences (multiple keys pressed one at a time in a specific order).
On top of this, Combokeys can also capture keyboard shortcuts from user input and optionally be paused/resumed from firing any keyboard shortcut events.
Numeric pads and international keyboard layouts are also supported.
Combokeys works with server-side (Node.js) and client-side (browsers) environments.
