TurnKey Mantis Live CD is a free and open source distribution of Linux that provides users with a software appliance based on the highly acclaimed Debian GNU/Linux operating system and uses the powerful Mantis bug tracking web-based software.

Mantis is an open source, free and popular web-based bug tracking system that features source control integration, issue tracking, report generation, multi-level access control, support for RSS feeds and email notifications, internationalization, and a built-in search engine.

Key features include all of the upstream Mantis configurations, graphing support, Twitter integration, comprehensive documentation, as well as support for secure connections using the latest SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) implementation.

In addition, it provides users with a Postfix mail transfer agent for sending emails to users, such as password recovery, Webmin modules for configuring Apache, Postfix, PHP and MySQL, and the phpMyAdmin administration front-end, which listens on port 12322 via SSL and lets users to manage MySQL databases.

Furthermore, it features pre-defined system email addresses in /etc/mantis/config_inc.php, an administration guide in http://appliance_addr/docs, and Twitter integration in /etc/mantis/config_local.php.

This TurnKey edition can be downloaded as Live CD ISO images, as well as ready-to-use virtual machines for the OpenStack, OVF, OpenVZ, OpenNode and Xen virtualization technlogies. The default username for the Webmin, SSH, MySQL and Web Shell components is root, and the default Mantis username is admin.

The entire installation process is text-based, takes approximately 5 minutes, and requires users to only partition the disk and choose where to install the boot loader. After installation, the first boot configuration wizard will allow you to enter new passwords for the root account, the MySQL 'root' account, and the Mantis 'admin' account, for which a valid email address must also be entered.

The appliance can be easily managed locally using the TurnKey Linux Configuration Console, or remotely via SSH, Web Shell, SFTP, Webmin or phpMyAdmin (their IP addresses and ports are displayed at the end of the first boot configuration process).
