Distributed as a 64-bit Live DVD

The distro is available for download as a single Live DVD ISO image that contains software packages optimized only for 64-bit hardware platforms The ISO image will fit on a DVD disc or a USB thumb drive of 1GB or higher capacity.

Choose between Kazakh, Russian and English languages

Among the default boot options, we can mention the ability to start the live system with support for either of the Kazakh, Russian or English languages, run the operating system in failsafe mode either by loading it to RAM (system memory) or straight from the bootable medium, as well as to perform a memory diagnostic test.

The GNOME desktop environment has a traditional look

As mentioned, Kazsid Linux is built around the modern GNOME desktop environment, which boasts a traditional design comprised of a signle panel located on the bottom edge of the screen.

Comes pre-loaded with powerful open source apps

The distro comes pre-loaded with some of the most powerful open source applications. Among these, we can mention Synaptic Package Manager, FileZilla, Iceweasel, GParted, Gigolo, Thunar, Laptop Mode Tools, Midnight Commander, Geany, Poedit, Klavaro, GIMP, LibreOffice, XSane, Ristretto, Audacity, Psi+, Remmina, Transmission, uGet, GNOME MPlayer, and WinFF.

Build your own Kazsid Live CD

Its main target are Kazakh and Russian users, but the English language is also included in the Kazsid Linux distribution. Kazsid is also distributed as a source archive, which means that users have to build the Live CD themselves.

For that, you should have a computer with the Debian GNU/Linux Wheezy or Sid installed, the live-build package (>3.0), as well as the debootstrap package. Follow the instructions provided at https://github.com/crayxt/kazsid page to generate the Live CD.
