Inventare OS

Inventare OS is a free and open source distribution of Linux based on the popular openSUSE operating system, built with the SUSE Studio tool and featuring the modern GNOME desktop environment. It has been designed for the Consulenzeweb.eu website and the default language is Italian.

Distributed as a 32-bit Live DVD

You will need a SUSE Studio account (free registration) to download this operating system, which is distributed as a 32-bit Live DVD ISO image that supports both 32-bit (i386) and 64-bit (x86_64) computers.

Boot options à la openSUSE Linux

Being based on openSUSE, the distro’s ISO image features a similar boot prompt from where users can start the live environment with default boot options or in failsafe mode, boot an existing OS from the first drive, as well as to perform a memory test.

Modern desktop environment powered by GNOME 3

As mentioned, the default and only desktop environment of Inventare OS is GNOME 3, which provides a modern and productive graphical session that comprises of a top panel for quick access to pre-installed applications, as well as to easily interact with opened programs or cycling between virtual workspaces.

Default applications

Default applications include the Shotwell image viewer and organizer, Mozilla Firefox web browser, Empathy and Pidgin multi-protocol instant messengers, LibreOffice office suite, Audacity audio editor, Blender 3D modeller, Calibre ebook library management software, Clementine music player, GIMP image editor, VLC Media Player, Mozilla Thunderbird email and news client, as well as various educational apps.
