Apache JAMES jSPF

Apache JAMES jSPF is an open source, simple, and lightweight solution for detecting email spoofing, the act of forging the sender's email address (identity).

This library was designed after the official SPF specification and is a must-have tool for any webmaster running his own email server.

Detecting spoofed emails is a must, allowing server administrators and other tools to detect incoming spam or phishing attempts.

The Apache JAMES jSPF package is actually made of two parts, the SPF Java class ideal for classic programmatic use, and the SPFQuery CLI tool recommended for desktop use.

What is new in this release:

• This release includes fixes for correct handling of $ signs in the local-part of emailaddresses and quotes in SPF-Records.
• It also includes a new version of dnsjnio which fixes some race-condition when using the async mode of jSPF.
