Apache log4php can help developers debug their applications by various sections and activities inside their PHP applications.

The project can be considered a PHP clone of the Apache Log4j project and works practically the same way.

Support is included for letting users configure the logger via a central XML file, where they can declare what and where to log, with support for various log levels included as well.

log4php will then record the information the developer wanted and save it to the desired location in XML, HTML, or another custom format he wishes to view it in.

log4php can save logged messages to local or remote files, to a database, it can send them to the console, via email, to a desired socket, and even to the "NIX syslog.

Some of the applications that use log4php include projects like PIWI, Ding, Vtiger CRM, SugarCRM, CMS Made Simple, and PAMI.
