ASCO aka A SPICE Circuit Optimizer is an open source project that aims to bring circuit optimization capabilities to existing SPICE simulators, using a high-performance parallel differential evolution (DE) optimization algorithm.
At the moment, ASCO includes out-of-the-box support for HSPICE (R), Eldo (TM), LTspice (TM), Qucs, ngspice, and Spectre (R).
With ASCO you can reuse and optimize an existing circuit, fully redesign a new circuit described in a SPICE netlist, easily explore a new operating point, migrated a working design to a more complex semiconductor technology, increase the yield and robustness of an already designed circuit, and much more.
What is new in this release:
- Initial support for ngspice simulator.
- Corrected memory leak in parallel mode. Minor bug fixes in 'log' and 'postp' tools.
What is new in version 0.4.7:
- Corrected multiprocessor optimization algorithm message truncation error related to MPI_SCATTERV function.
- Corrected load balancer implementation.
- RF module better supports Spectre.
- Support for LTspice and Spectre in the 'postp' tool.
- Code clean-up and minor improvements.
