Roots-CMS, as the name implies, utilizes the Roots frontend Node.js framework to store, organize, and arrange content for publication.
Using a JSON-based configuration system and the power of the Express server for Node.js, developers can build and deploy quick websites on top of the Roots framework.
Roots-CMS can be used for building very basic static sites that rarely get updated, or even more complex, dynamic sites like blogs or news portals.
Some of Roots-CMS current basic features include a user authentication mechanism, a file uploader, AWS (Amazon Web Services) integration, Jade (template engine) support, and an easy Stylus-based theming system.
What is new in this release:
- Added ability to commit changes for a piece of content (including any image files referenced in that piece of dynamic content).
- Fixed image uploader issue that caused all images to be saved with .png file extension.
- Added image upload icon to editing toolbar.
- Fixed various bugs.
Requirements:
- Node.js 0.10 or higher
- Roots
Limitations:
- Still under development.
