jQuery datagrid works by overtaking the way HTML tables are displayed on a page, adding more user interaction features to the table's UI.
These include the ability to sort data columns, automatically paginate large table data, and use special filters to narrow down the table's displayed data to only specific values.
The plugin also adds the ability to load data from remote locations using AJAX, and the ability to highlight cells based on various criteria and the date they contain.
jQuery datagrid feature set can be extended with plugins, with a few already included in the standard distribution, which developers can use to code their own.
