ItemSlide.js can be used to create sideways-scrolling carousels that work on both desktops and mobile devices.
It is easy to deploy and comes in two versions, one as a standalone library written in vanilla JavaScript, and one as a jQuery plugin.
While carousel widgets aren't really "new", what makes ItemSlide.js different is its built-in support for touch gestures, a feature which most older carousels and content sliders seem to have missing.
On top of this, another ItemSlide unique feature is its ability to remove items from the slider, done by swiping the undesired elements up or down, out of the carousel's container.
And if we brought containers into focus, it is worth mentioning that ItemSlide.js can work inside small and carefully defined boxes, or it can take up the entire area of the page, working an a semi-fullscreen mode.
