Default Text jQuery Plugin

The Default Text jQuery Plugin mimics the HTML5 placeholder attribute and allows the developer to add a description/text inside the form field itself.

The plugin does not enter a value in the form field itself, but relatively positions a span over the field.

When the user wants to focus the form field, the span is removed, and added again only if the form field is left empty.

A working demo is included with the Default Text jQuery Plugin  package.

Since most browsers today support the placeholder attribute out of the box, the plugin is ideal for using as a fallback system for older browsers.

What is new in this release:

• Better logic for when to skip in favor of placeholder.

• JavaScript enabled on client side
• jQuery 1.3 or higher
