Apache Flink was developed to work with Apache Hadoop and comes with Java and Scala bindings.
Flink is a powerful platform which allows you to manage server clusters and use them to process and analyze large quantities of data in an efficient and fast way.
Flink itself is made up of three major parts: a distributed runtime, a program optimizer, and the API.
Developers can run Flink on both major Hadoop branches, 1.x and 2.x, and together with YARN (Hadoop's scheduler).
