Trosh

Trosh is an open source, freely distributed, multiplatform and very simple graphcial arcade game written with LOVE in around 20 hours. It is designed as a tribute to flashy releases of heat and energy, which are also known as explosions.

The game is about a guy with sunglasses and his unique and dangerous quest to space and back. We have no idea if the guy’s name is Trosh, but the game features explosions, sunglasses, and even more explosions.

Trosh is the kind of game made with LOVE, the fantastic and powerful 2D game engine that lets developers to create entertaining and beautiful games that work across all mainstream operating systems. Of course, this means that LOVE must be installed on your personal computer in order to play Trosh.

Getting started with Trosh

To play Trosh, you will have to first download the binary package from either Softoware or the project’s website (see the homepage link at the end of the review), save the archive somewhere on your computer and unpack it.

Open the extracted folder and double click on the trosh.love file to start the game. The game’s main menu is very simple and features no buttons or options. Simply press the Enter key on your keyboard to start the game, and use the Esc (Escape) key to pause or exit the game.

Runs on Linux, Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X

Being designed from the ground up as a cross-platform video game, Trosh is compatible with all distributions of GNU/Linux, as well as with the Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating systems. It runs on computers supporting either of the 32 or 64-bit CPU architectures.
