From the creator of the Unity Dark, JessBuntu and Australis Mate operating system, we welcome you to Xfce Smooth, a Linux distribution based off of Xubuntu and designed to be as smooth and modern as possible. It uses a highly customized Xfce graphical desktop environment.

The distribution is available for download as a 32-bit Live DVD

Currently, the Xfce Smooth operating system can be downloaded via Softoware or directly from the project’s website (see the homepage link above) as a Live DVD ISO image that contains software packages optimized only for 32-bit (x86) hardware platforms.

The Live DVD boot menu is very standard

The Live DVD boot menu is very standard for an Ubuntu derivative, allowing the user to start the live system with default drivers or in safe graphics mode, start the installer directly, perform a system memory diagnostic test, as well as to boot an existing OS from the local drive.

Xfce has a modern, clean and slick look

In order to provide new Linux users with an out-of-the-box experience, the Xfce graphical desktop environment has been tweaked and customized to look clean, slick and modern. It comprised of a dock (application launcher) located on the bottom edge of the screen, and a panel located on the upper side of the screen.

Contains a vast amount of powerful apps and all multimedia codecs

The distro comes pre-loaded with all multimedia codecs, as well as a vast amount of powerful apps, such as Plank, Conky Manager, Timeshift, BleachBit,  Google Chrome, HandBrake, Mozilla Firefox, SMPlayer, Clementine, Spotify, Pinta, GIMP, mtPaint, Cairo Clock, Vokoscreen, Mintstick, Selene Media Encoder, Remastersys and Gedit.

It can be permanently installed or used as-is from the bootable medium

Another interesting feature is the ability to permanently install the operating system on the local drive of your computer. However, you can use it as-is directly from the bootable medium. It uses Ubuntu's default software repositories and package manager.
