WhirlWind Platinum is a free for personal use Linux kernel-based operating system designed from the ground up to help you discover, locate and monitor nearby wireless (Wi-Fi) networks.

It is available for download for free, as a dual-arch Live CD

While it costs about $2499 (approximately 1850 EUR) for government and corporate use, the WhirlWind operating system is available for download for free to individual users, as a dual-arch Live CD ISO image.

How to use the ISO image to boot the live system

The ISO has approximately 500MB in size, which means that it will fit well on a CD disc or a USB thumb drive of 512MB or higher capacity. It will run on computers that support the 32-bit and 64-bit instruction set architectures.

Features a minimal boot prompt

When booting the Live CD from the BIOS of a computer, you will see a boot prompt that allows you to pass extra parameters to the kernel, in case you have some hardware components that are not recognized by default. Otherwise, just press Enter at the boot prompt to start the live system.

You’ll have to authenticate before you can use the OS

At first, you will be asked to accept the license and to authenticate into the live system. Detailed instructions about how to use the authentication method can be found in the following PDF document http://www.futures-inc.com/WhirlWind_Platinum_v1.0_Authenticate_Instructions.pdf.
