At the moment, the Utopic Unicorn edition of Ubuntu Cloud Server can be downloaded for free as binary archives, in the tar.gz file format, for the 64-bit (amd64), 32-bit (i386), 64-bit ARM, 64-bit Power Little Endian, as well as 32-bit ARMHF hardware platforms.
Distributed as ready-to-use cloud images
In addition to the binary archives, which include cloud images, the Ubuntu Cloud Server operating system is also available for download as QCOW2 disk image files that can be used on top of QEMU and KVM virtualization software, an OVF (Open Virtualization Format) file, as well as ready-to-use cloud images that allow you to run Ubuntu on Amazon EC2 with a single mouse click.
