TurnKey OpenPhoto Live CD is an open source project that provides users with an easy-to-use appliance for quickly deploying dedicated servers with the OpenPhoto software. It is based on the Debian GNU/Linux operating system.
OpenPhoto is an open source, easy to use and popular e-commerce software specifically designed for small and medium-sizes online shops. The appliance include all upstream OpenPhoto configurations, which are installed by default in /var/www/openphoto.
Key features include out-of-the-box support for secure connections using the latest SSL implementation, a Postfix MTA (Mail Transfer Agent) for sending email messages to users, the phpMyAdmin administrative front-end for managing MySQL databases, and Webmin modules for configuring Apache, MySQL, PHP and Postfix.
It is very important to mention here that phpMyAdmin listens for connections on port 12322, using SSL. Furthermore, the default username for the Webmin, phpMyAdmin, SSH and MySQL components is root, and the default OpenPhoto username is admin@example.com.
It is distributed as a Live CD ISO images, as well as virtual machines for the Xen, OpenStack, OpenNode, OpenVZ and OVF virtualization technologies. The ISO images are available for both 32-bit and 64-bit architectures, and can be used to install the operating system on a local disk drive.
The text-based installation process takes only 5 minutes and requires you to only partition the disk drive (mostly automatic) and choose where to install the boot loader. After installation, you'll be able to set new passwords for the root account, the MySQL 'root' account, as well as for the OpenPhoto 'owner' account.
In order to have a working OpenPhoto installation, it is a must to set a valid email address for the OpenPhoto 'owner' account, as well as to enter the domain to serve OpenPhoto. Don't forget to write down the IP addresses and ports of the active services, which will be displayed at the end of the first boot configuration process.
