TurnKey b2evolution Live CD is an open source software appliance that provides users with a free and easy-to-use solution for deploying dedicated b2evolution servers in no time and with minimum effort. It uses the stable and reliable base of the award winning Debian GNU/Linux operating system.
b2evolution is an open source Content Management System (CMS) that can be transformed into a multi-blog, multi-user and multi-lingual publishing system. The appliance comes with all of the upstream b2evolution configurations, which are installed by default in /var/www/b2evolution.
Key features include the phpMyAdmin administration front-end for easy management of MySQL databases, a Postfix MTA (Mail Transfer Agent) for sending email messages to users, such as password recovery, as well as support for secure connections using the latest SSL implementation.
In addition to the above, the appliance also comes with various Webmin modules for configuring the Apache, MySQL, Postfix and PHP software components. When using it, please keep in mind that the default username for Webmin, MySQL, phpMyAdmin and SSH is root, and the default b2evolution username is admin.
The appliance is distributed as Live CD ISO images, one for each of the supported hardware platforms, which can be written to USB flash drives or burned onto CD discs, virtual machine images for the OpenStack, Xen, OpenVZ, OpenNode and OVF virtualization technologies, as well as AMI cloud images.
Installing the TurnKey b2evolution distribution on a specific server machine is easier than you might think, simply because you will only have to choose a disk partitioning method and where to install the boot loader.
After installation, the user can enter new passwords for the aforementioned accounts, during the first boot configuration process. From the TurnKey Linux Configuration Console, it is possible to set up the network interfaces, as well as to reboot or shutdown the server.
