ttylinux project is an open source and minimalistic GNU/Linux operating system that aims to fit into 4 megabytes of space and run even on 386 class computers.

The target audience for ttylinux is mainly system administrators and people who want to put together minimalistic systems of their own.

What is new in this release:

  • The release number was skipped from 10.0 to 14.0 to reflect the GLIBC version used in ttylinux.
  • Updates were made from GCC 4.4.4 to 4.4.6 and from GLIBC 2.13 to 2.14. module-init-tools 3.16 was replaced with kmod 6, and udev 163 was updated to 182.

What is new in version 10.0:

  • This looks like a backwards step in version numbering, but all ttylinux variants now have the same version numbering; some went up and some went down in version numbering, but all are new updated releases.

What is new in version 11.0:

  • This release adds boot parameters for starting Ethernet networking, setting the time zone and a few other things. busybox, e2fsprogs and iptables are updated to their latest versions. Version 11.0 i686 and x86_64 updates glibc from 2.9 to 2.11.

What is new in version 9.0:

  • This release updates the kernel to 2.6.30.5, glibc to 2.9, and other packages to their latest releases.
  • It adds an x86_64 version.

What is new in version 8.1:

  • This release updates glibc from 2.7 to 2.8 and bash, busybox and e2fsprogs to their latest versions.
