Trisquel GNU/Linux Netinstall

Trisquel GNU/Linux Netinstall is an open source, minimal and freely distributed operating system, a special edition of the Ubuntu-based Trisquel GNU/Linux distro designed for experienced users who want to install the latest version of Trisquel over the network or deploy it on multiple computers at the same time.

Supports 64-bit and 32-bit architectures

As expected, the Netinstall edition of Trisquel GNU/Linux is available for download as installable-only ISO images, which have been engineered to be deployed on computers supporting either of the 32-bit (x86) and 64-bit (x86_64) instruction set architectures.

The ISO images are very minimal, having only 30 MB in size, which means that you can write them on any media you want, CD or USB, which can be later used to boot the operating system from the BIOS of a computer and install it.

Offers standard and advanced boot options

The boot menu is not so fancy as the one of other Trisquel GNU/Linux editions, but it offers standard options, such as the ability to start the text-mode or command-line installers, as well as advanced boot options like the ability to install the operating system in expert mode or to access the rescue mode, which can be used to rescue a broken OS.

Installing Trisquel GNU/Linux

We recommend users to choose the first option on the boot menu when attempting to install the latest version of Trisquel GNU/Linux over the network, as it provides a user-friendly text-mode interface similar with the one that was used in the Ubuntu Alternate CDs.

Keep in mind though, that the ISO images provided are very minimal and do not contain any packages, except the ones needed to download and install the operating system from the Internet. Follow the instructions displayed on the screen and you will get a minimal Trisquel GNU/Linux installation that can be tailored for your needs.
