Ribs is an evolution of the famous Skeleton mobile-first CSS framework, a tool loved by most designers, but which has become inactive for quite some time now.
Ribs adds support for newer development techniques and coding patterns, allowing programmers to use it for building more modern apps.
While most of the codebase is the same, there are some noticeable differences between Skeleton and Ribs.
The main ones are an improved more configurable grid system, the framework is coded in SCSS and then coded in CSS, the original codebase has been split into smaller modules (files), and a lot of smaller typography-related quirks.
Ribs also upgrades from using CSS resets to CSS normalizers, also fixing some errors reported by CSSLint and users.
What is new in this release:
- Added font-face mixin.
